AN INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION STUDIO
We collaborate with local cast and crew members to create impactful films — building community & sharing meaningful stories.
Walking the Red Road
In Lakota tradition, the Red Road symbolizes a life of harmony and balance. Guided by the prayer “Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ” or “All My Relations” — we are reminded of our sacred interconnectedness and the call to walk in alignment with that truth.
Through every film we create, we strive to spark connection, foster understanding, and reveal universal truths so that we may journey together down this road home.

Behind the camera
Kersten Parrella is an American writer and director. Her debut feature, Sophomore Year, 2020, captures the emotional landscape of early pandemic lock-downs - a portrait of young adulthood caught between isolation and awakening. Raised between Japan, Germany, and the United States, she developed a global perspective that shapes her visual and emotional storytelling. A self-taught filmmaker, she founded Red Road Films, an independent studio dedicated to creating human-centered stories that explore universal truths and experiences across cultures and generations. She has written and directed several short films and documentaries and continues to develop projects that foster new cultural, generational, and spiritual understanding.
